About ERDF

The project ‘Werkspoorkwartier: Creative Circular Manufacturing’ is made possible by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). ERDF action is designed to reduce economic, environmental and social problems in urban areas, with a special focus on sustainable urban development.

The ERDF aims to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the European Union and focuses its investments on several key priority areas:

  • Innovation and research
  • The digital agenda
  • Support for small and medium-sized enterprises
  • The low-carbon economy

ERDF action is designed to reduce economic, environmental and social problems in urban areas, with a special focus on sustainable urban development.

 

Project Werkspoorkwartier
ERDF is an important financer of Kansen voor West II (information in Dutch), a Dutch collaboration of 4 provinces and 4 cities that intends to bring innovative impulses into the regional economy.

With the ERDF support Werkspoorkwartier will transform in 4 years into a circular hub that will support and attract economic activity. The project ‘Werkspoorkwartier: Creative Circular Manufacturing’ will lay a solid foundation for sustainable and profitable business cases in the area. After these transforming years the developed industrious activity should be be independently profitable.
